Yes. Everything you share is confidential, with a few legal exceptions:
- If a child under 19 is at risk of abuse or neglect
- If there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others
- If we’re required by a court order
- If past or current sexual abuse by a health professional is disclosed

Yes. You’re welcome to bring a trusted support person to appointments if it feels right for you.
No. Sexual violence can occur without physical contact. Technology and certain behaviors—such as harassment, extortion, or the non-consensual sharing of intimate images—can all be forms of sexual violence.
No. Not all experiences of sexual violence are classified as criminal offenses. Regardless of whether the violence you experienced is a crime, The Compass can provide support and help you explore your options.
